After going to Accra, Abuja, Nairobi, Lagos, Kaduna, New York, London, Johannesburg and Cape Town, the #SheHIVE is FINALLY coming to Washington D.C. The best part is, we (NkemLife) have the honor of covering the #SheHIVE week and giving you a behind the scenes look as to what it truly means to be a part of the She Leads Africa (SLA) #SheHIVE Community in the Chocolate City.
As daughters of the Diaspora and ambitious African women looking to live our purpose and re-connect with our continent, we’re constantly searching for events like SLA that will enrich the Washington D.C. area with our dual-cultural narrative and experiences.
Coincidently, in 2014 two Nigerian young women, Yasmin Belo- Osagie and Afua Osei, created She Leads Africa the same year in which my sister and I founded NkemLife. As fellow Nigerian female Entrepreneurs, my sister and I instantly connected to the She Leads Africa’s mission and had the pleasure of watching SLA grow as we grew.
From the very beginning we were inspired by the #SheHIVE to sustain our blog and turn it into a business, by taking a path at the time that was viewed as nonconventional. She Leads Africa to us has been a welcoming community that helps young African women, like NkemLife, achieve their professional dreams with engaging online content and Pan-African events.
So THIS WEEK from June 22-25 at The Impact Hub DC #SheHiveDC will be bring Washington D.C. all the Maggi and #AfricanGirlMagic you’re looking for. Come join us and experience their professional boot camp for Black women. Get ready to hear secrets from successful women, expand your network, learn new business skills, and so much more!
