On Labor Day my sister and I plus a few friends walked to a huge carnival taking place along the board walk. The sounds of energetic children and carnival music fell upon our ears like little drops of rain. The pandemonium of noisy rides spinning round and round, with glowing flickering lights made the carnival a main attraction.
At first we were hesitant to walk in but the warm smells of freshly fried funnel cake, topped with sprinkles of powdered sugar led us right in. With one sniff the decision had been made. When we walked in and instantly felt young again. We got on several rides and ate lots of sticky sweets. We danced to the random music playing as we watched families come on and off rides. Its was nice to relive our childhood.
The highlight of it all was riding the ferris wheel at night as we over looked the carnival and the entire water front. The city and board walk lit up with bright light 3D bill boards. The high view from the Ferris wheel allowed us to see the skyline all the different casino’s from our seats. It was a view we will never forget.
We left the Carnival feeling nostalgic. Little tastes of our childhood brought back many memories. We left feeling fulfilled as we walked back down the board walk laughing and reminiscing about the good old days while trying to lick the the powered sugar off our fingers.
