Does your day to day natural hair weigh you down with the constant up keep and twist outs?

Well the truth is ladies, when it comes to natural hair.. most women DON’T  wake up like this Lol !

It usually takes us a couple of days for your twist out to dry and get the style we want . In the mean time we still feel free to go out and look good without feeling like a cast member of “Roots”.  After being frustrated  with the in between stage of the (twist out process) my sister and I decided to take advantage of our Nigerian Heritage and wrap our hair up with scrap pieces of fabric we have laying around. On condition days and twist out days we decide to wrap our natural kinks up with a head -tie, to protect our natural hair while still looking amazingly stylish.

All you need to accomplish this look is a piece of African fabric, long and wide enough to wrap around your whole head. If you don’t have access to African fabric to tie your head  you can still achieve this look by using an old summer or winter scarf.  Even though its a scarf it still  has the same effect and look.  You can accomplish all different types of styles with your head tie that will still allow you to disguise whatever is going on with your natural hair. Sometimes we even leave the conditioner in our hair and shower cap on our heads before we tie our head tie and leave out. Who would know? LOL

When my sister and I want to go out on the town but don’t feel like untwisting the individual twist that took us four hours to do the night before we decide to spice up a bit with Head Ties. It’s quick, colorful and creative, you just have to know how to pull it off. Below are some quick and fast (Head Ties) ideas.

You can choose to leave some of your hair out or tie the whole thing up. What ever you do , just have fun with it and don’t be afraid to be free with however your head-tie turns out. No one would know what you intended but you. The most important thing is to protect your natural hair while still looking FABULOUS !

Now pick up that old scarf or piece of fabric and TIE IT UP !
